It is truly incredible to take our students on various trips throughout the year and then to witness, first hand, the moment when God reaches down from Heaven and fills a student in a powerful and unforgettable way…it is amazing! Unfortunately, every year we have dozens of students who miss out on experiences like this because of the high cost of these life-changing trips. While we still try to help out with limited scholarship funds, we are acutely aware that many families don’t even consider the option of scholarship help because they find the initial advertised trip price to be so daunting…this is a problem – a need.
In response to this need, the Student Ministry team has launched a new initiative called InvesTeen. Its purpose is to ensure that none of our FPCO students miss out on the opportunity to participate in these trips. During the month of May, our Student Ministry team has committed to raise $25,000 to bring down the cost of the discipleship trips so more kids can experience the life change that God so often provides on these trips.
Please consider partnering with us in this fundraiser and pray about making a financial contribution to help InvesTeen reach its goal. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and all checks can be made out to "FPCO" with "InvesTeen" in the memo line. Then, simply place your contribution in an envelope and send it to FPCO Student Ministries, Attn: Investeen, 106 E. Church St, Orlando, FL 32801 OR you may hand deliver it to the InvesTeen table under the Angel Wing on Sundays, May 6, 13, and 20. This table will be open before and after each of the church services.
Dominican Republic Mission Trip
June 9-15, 2012
FPCO Student Ministries joins with the Family Ministry for this Mission Emanuel summer mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Mission Emanuel is an outreach ministry of The Gathering of Men, having partnered with the First Presbyterian Church for several years in order to help build church buildings, christian education for over 600 children and health care for over 10,000 in the DR. The cost to attend this mission trip is $995 plus air fare. Students are responsible for registering with the Student Ministry online at
www.fpco.org/register with a $100 deposit that will go toward your total trip cost, and then contacting the Student Ministry office at
raldrich@fpco.org to receive further flight information in order to purchase your own flight with the group.
Students and leaders stay in a hotel in the DR for the time of the trip, going out into the town to work during the day. Since Family Ministry and Student Ministry are attending this trip together, we will see much of each other while working together throughout the week.

The Great Escape
Middle School students are invited to be a part of an amazing camp called The Great Escape in Cleveland, TN. Students will experience fantastic speakers, skits, music, games and much, much more all week long! The dates are June 17-22, 2012 for rising 6th grade through rising 9th grade. The Student Ministry uses an outside ministry called Youth Conference Ministries (info about YCM can be found online at
www.ycmhome.org) who coordinate retreats by renting out college campuses throughout the country. Our TGE is located at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. Students will take charter buses from FPCO and ride to camp together. Students will sleep in dorms throughout the campus (guys in one dorm and girls in another) with our leaders. The leaders attending the retreat consist of staff, summer interns, parents and/or volunteer leaders. We try to keep a ratio of 7 students to 1 leader per trip. The cost for this retreat is $499 ($100 non-refundable deposit that goes toward the cost of the trip) and the last day to register is Monday, June 11, 2012. Forms can be found at

Fun In The Son
High School students will have the time of their lives at Fun In The Son this summer! We're taking a bus of rising 9th through rising 12th graders to Jekyll Island, GA for a beach retreat! We'll have speakers, skits, bands, tournaments and more! Join us July 15-20, 2012 for a retreat to beat all others! The cost is $499 but if you register by June 4 you get a cost break of $475! There is a non-refundable deposit of $100 that goes toward your total trip cost. The Student Ministry uses and outside ministry called Youth Conference Ministries (info about YCM can be found online at www.ycmhome.org) who coordinates this retreat by renting out an entire hotel on Jekyll Island, GA and a conference center just down the street. Students stay with leaders in the hotel rooms for the week. Our leaders consist of staff, summer interns, parents and/or volunteer leaders. We try to keep a ratio of 8 students to 1 leader per trip.
